Great furniture design doesn't have to fit into a handful of predetermined style categories. In fact, our favorite approach is to let inspiration from unexpected sources guide us to new ideas. The solid New Zealand pine Button table is a classic example. In this case, the beauty is in the details. Rather than using typical wood dimensions, much of final look can be traced back to the heavier thickness on the top and the legs. This sturdy look is in keeping with the Plank Road personality while maintaining clean lines. The Button round dining table comes with a 20 inch leaf to create an oval dining table. It also features our Kinguard Performance finish which adds a little extra protection should a spill happen.
Inspired by the rugged solid wood roads that America traveled, Plank Road is a tribute to the sturdy resolve that is our heritage. Every solid wood board presents its own personality while playing a part in the broader story. Avoiding unnecessary embellishments, the beauty of the furniture's construction is enough.
The collection features a casual, organic style that blends modern and vintage design influences with the natural character of solid wood furniture. Two finish choices are available across the assortment:
Stone - a natural brown tone that lightly shades the pine lumber
Charcoal - just as the name suggests, except these pieces feature the contrasting Stone finish on the tops for a two-tone look
Care & Cleaning/Care of Finish
Finishes are naturally resistant to minor everyday hazards or accidents, however, some precautions are necessary to maintain the beauty of wood furniture.
Dust with soft cloth slightly moistened with water. Always rub in the direction of the wood grain.
Do not place beverages directly on furniture.
Furniture should not be placed in direct sunlight.
Remove any spills or smudges immediately.

It's been said that "things aren't made the way they used to be," but at Kincaid, that's not exactly true. While several enhancements have been made since our beginnings in 1946, we still use solid wood construction, english dovetails, and hand rubbed finishes to craft our wood furniture. And the same can be said for our upholstery. Over the past 30 years, our upholstery operations in western North Carolina have built quality, bench made upholstery one piece at a time. And like Kincaid's solid wood furniture, the upholstery has also benefited from a number of enhancements that continue to add value for the customer.
At Kincaid Furniture, things are made the way they used to be, they may even be a little better.
